Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), also known as ME, is a life-altering health condition with no known cure. The symptoms of CFS vary for each individual but always involve a severe lack of energy and persistent exhaustion. Fibromyalgia is another chronic pain condition that often co-exists with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, causing widespread pain and discomfort throughout the body.
Many body systems are involved in these conditions. The digestive system, the nervous system, immune system and musculo-skeletal system all play a part in the development and course of CFS and Fibromyalgia. Getting the right nutrients so these systems can function properly is essential. Most sufferers experience digestive issues. Because poor digestion prevents our bodies from absorbing and using the right nutrients, supporting a healthy gut and checking for nutrient deficiencies and intolerances is my first priority.
Testing can really help identify what could be causing your symptoms. The organic acids test, for instance, can give us information on how your body is producing energy, any toxins it might be struggling with and vitamin, mineral and neurotransmitter (brain chemical) levels.
